Rangers Starting
What are the steps to becoming an Army Ranger starting with ROTC?
And if you know, also add the steps to becoming a special forces officer.
After you graduate, get Infantry as your Branch choice.
Go to airborne school either while in ROTC or afterwords.
After BOLC ll or Bolc lll, go to Ranger School.
Go to your first duty assignment, serve as a platoon leader for at least a year.
Be better than every other platoon leader in your Brigade.
Fill out a DA Form 4187 to apply for assignment to the Ranger Regiment.
Be recommended by your Brigade commander.
Go before the Ranger Board of senior NCO’s and Officers and be selected.
Go to ROP – ranger orientation program.
Get order to the Ranger Regiment.
Pretty much the same thing for SF, except no Ranger Board, no ROP
You apply for SFAS instead.
