Should I buy a skateboard and give skating a try?

I want to ask my parents but I have a feeling they would laugh at the idea of me skating.

I already know that they know I have fingerboards and skate 2. They also see me use them constantly.

But I still have a feeling they would laugh. Should I give it a try and ask them?

I get a choice of what I want since my birthday is coming up.

so what if they laugh?,
as long as they humor you ,
who cares if they laugh?
just show em, and get the last laugh.

but ask for a helmet and elbow and knee pads , too.
and maybe some advil. you’re going to need it.
